Building XML dynamically is simple and can be done effectively a number of different ways - I outlined these in the RPG Modernization Redbook (http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg248185.html?Open <http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg248185.html?Open>) it in the section on data interchange.

But why do you want to use STRPCCMD? Apart from anything else the length of command string is limited - will your dynamic XML string fit? Do you simply want your program to fire data at a web site and bring up the result in a browser? It just doesn't sound terribly useful. What will your program do next? Does it not need to know if it was successful or failed?

Normally people wanting to build strings for a web service are also processing the result and doing the whole thing with a tool such as Scott Klement's HTTPAPI.
