I love talking about various languages, but all this talk about
JavaScript has definitely drifted off-topic. It was mentioned very
briefly as an example to contrast with RPG, and even then I thought
the usefulness of bringing it up was dubious. Since then this branch
of the thread has gone even further off course.
(I realize this may sound disingenuous and hypocritical to some, who
feel I shoehorn Python into every conversation. But on the RPG list, I
sincerely try to either talk about how Python compares to RPG, or how
Python can be used as a complement or alternative when the task at
hand is ill-suited to RPG alone. We're not doing that with JavaScript
in this conversation. Now, if OP had said "The language I'm most
familiar with is JavaScript, and now I'm trying to learn RPG" then
things might be different, though the content in some of these posts
still wouldn't really help with that.)
