James, we two have different views of the world, and I thank you for
reminding me that diversity of opinion is a Very Good Thing.

I can remember the first time I saw DIY group totals done in RPG; it
took me a moment or two to grok that I was looking at the replacement
for L1. :-)

We all of us are trained to see certain patterns as more or less
desirable as our experiences have accumulated.
