Will your employer send you to a conference? COMMON and DB2 Summit are good
ones.

And what languages do you know? Modern RPG is not different than any modern
language. Names are different - service programs are DLLs and physical
files are tables and stuff like that. But anything you can do in VB or C#
or whatever can be done just as easily in RPG.

This is a good place to hang out. And the wiki here has tons of code.
