lets say you have a null capable date field in your DB, how do youconvert
this field to JSON?
The JSON standard actually specifies that the value be represented as
the reserved word 'null' (no quotes). This is different than the
string "null" (four characters enclosed by double-quotes), as well as
different from the empty string (zero characters enclosed by
double-quotes).
