Steve

Can you share what the application software is that you may be using?

The answer may already be on your system

I need to determine the maximum number of a given item number we can make

based on current inventory level of the components.

I have a program that can explode the BOM using a recursive call and I can

easily take the components it comes up with & see how many we have. The

issue becomes when one of the components is a sub-assembly.

Example:

level Item Qty per

1 9672-02 1.000

.2 5156 1.000

.2 4993 1.000

We may only show 1 of the 9672-02 on-hand, but we have enough of the 5156

and 4993 to make 10. So we potentially have a qty of 11 of 9672-02 (1

currently in inventory + 10 that we could make).

The sub-assemblies may have sub-assemblies which complicates this even

further.

Anyone ever tackled this type of logic?
