You can test DSCJOB yourself to see if it works. Open two sessions. Get
the job ID from the first one, then start up the entry program your users
are losing data from. Enter in some data. In the second session, issue
the DSCJOB for the job ID in the first session. The first session will now
show a signon screen. If you do a WRKUSRJOB STATUS(*ACTIVE) from the
second session, you should see that the status for the disconnected job is
'DSC'.

Now, sign on to the disconnected session. You should see the input you
typed in before disconnecting. I tested this just now on a subfile
maintenance program.

As for this not working as intended previously, you / your secofr need to
make sure that job is not ended when it is disconnected.

Glen,

The 20 minute setting is a system value. I will have to check if the shop
will allow it to be done with a program.

Dan,

I'll have to check with the secofr on that. I want to say DSCJOB was tested
and did not work as intended, but I did not see this for myself. Maybe we
should have another go at it.
