I was going back over this discussion, and I found Jon's reference to the RPGBeans project that I somehow missed. I'm not surprised that someone had the same idea. I'd say it's a logical conclusion for someone with at least basic object oriented training. I'm also not terribly surprised that the RPGBeans project went belly-up. I don't see a big audience. I think the majority of RPG devs would say, "it ain't broke, stop trying to fix it!".
