The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Not directly - message files are not database objects.
Now if you were to write a UDTF - then yes. Or a stored procedure.
This could be a candidate for an SQL service - the database team are
making lots of these - see if there is something already on the
developerworks IBMi tech refresh site. If not, put in a request.
