For updating data in the remote server you can use (IIRC) the following
statement:
JDBC_ExecUpd( Connection_ID : SQL_STRING );
In yor RPGLE program you could have something like:
SQL_STRING = 'UPDATE mySchema.Myfile Set status = ''X'' ';
JDBC_ExecUpd(Conn_id : SQL_STRING) ;
