- Ted Holts "Benchmark" is from 2007 recent systms are lots faster!!!
- The main results where:
passing 64 Byte he didn't get any diffrence, even for 7.500.000 call operations
passing 64 KB call by reference was at 1 sec for 500.000 calls and call by value was at 22 sec, but his "Benchmark" didn't do anything else. 500.000 calls, passing 64 kB, the called procedure has to do work for 32 GB of data (or it doesn't need the data?) and for this amount of data the time for the call operation could be neglected!!!

In the real world 500 calls within a transaction are quite a lot and 500 calls by value would make some milliseconds on the not named hardware of the "Benchmark". Running on recent systems one single database operation would take more time than hundreds of call by value, and normally parameters with 64 kB should be rather seldom for an apropriate design.
