Ouch we really should start new threads for even somewhat related posts.
Anyway . . .

RE: RDi vs SEU (was: Standard source file names?)

Due to ERP software issues, I am STUCK at v5r4. I do have the WDSC
product but tend to just jump into SEU because it works so quickly
and I've always had speed issues with WDSC. so my question is...can
I get RDi at v5r4?

As others have responded, you should be able to get RDi 9.1 (actually you
want 9.1.1.1) no matter the IBM i (a.k.a., i5/OS) release you are using.
Our business partner always get us RDi via Passport Advantage. I don't
think the price is any different.

The editing should work fine. The only issues I would hesitate on is
whether you won't see the performance improvements you're after. If IBM
also updated the host server code on more recent IBM i releases, you could
run into problems.

This would be better posted and asked on the WDSCi list. Several of the
Toronto developers follow that thread and frequently post. (Keep in mind
that's as time allows--it's not their job to support via the Midrange
list. But they are an EXTREMELY friendly and helpful bunch.)
