SFLRCDNBR is a a field-level keyword, but it can only be specified on and
only takes effect on the control record when it is written.

I've not been able to get back to this to try anything yet. Hoping to
squeeze in some time in the next day or so. I am rewriting the subfile
record, NOT the control record. THAT might be my problem. That will
