Its on the write, which is what I said in the subject line, I guess I
should have made it explicitly clear in the body of the message. My
apologies.

But since its a qualified file, I need both the file name and the record
format... unless I'm totally missing something.

The system should say which line is in error. Everyone is stuck on moving
data. You can write blank data to a file. The error seems like is should
be on this line:
Write poDtl.rPoDtl toDs;

I don't use the data structure for writing to a file, so I don't know if
this is correct or not.
I would use
Write rPoDtl;

assuming that is the record format.

Please tell us which line the error is associated with.

Subject: Re: RNF7701 Error on a DS Write

A data structure defined with LIKEREC is a QUALIFIED data structure. The
names of the subfields will be qualified with the new data structure name,
DS1.SUBF1.

You will need to map (move) the fields from tDs to the fields in toDs.
The EVAL-CORR is a convenient opcode for doing so if you are on a newer
release or if the data structures are identical you may then move tDS to
toDs before the write.

I am baffled by this error, aside from not telling me much of anything
I have not been able to figure out how to get around it.

I have two files (one is a temp file in qtemp and the other a
permanent
table)

FtpoDtl1 if a e Disk Qualified

FpoDtl if a e Disk Qualified

DS's declared:

D tDs ds LikeRec(tpoDtl1.rPoDtl:*Input)
D toDs ds LikeRec(tpoDtl1.rPoDtl:*Output)

Now I'm reading the qtemp file into the DS:
Read tPoDtl1 tDs;

Write it out to the permanent file:
Write poDtl.rPoDtl toDs;

That's all there is to this particular problem.

Any help would be appreciated, even if its with the end of a Thompson
