In V7R1 they add the ability to search on a subfield in an array of records
but not until then.

Alternatives

1. Use the BSEARCH system API. Since it just passes a pointer to the whole
record to comparison function it doesn't matter where the fields are.

You should find a lot of examples of BSEARCH on the web or I could send you
some.

2. Get a pointer to the array and have it map to a array of the type you
are looking up on. I could send some code examples tomorrow.

3. Search manually. Just do a For loop and loop until you find what you are
looking for.

Others more give you a more complete answer.
