What (if anything) exists in the way of RPGLE-source-format-compatible
RPG compilers for other platforms?
My answer would be approximately the same as Henrik's, except that I'm
really curious why you're asking. I mean, is it just an idle academic
question? Do you have some purpose? Maybe a project of some kind?
I mean, the two main scenarios I can think of for why anyone would
even be thinking about this are
(1) I want to be able to target the i without necessarily developing
on the i. Maybe I don't always have access to an i, but I've got
ideas for RPG programs in my head, and I want to commit those ideas to
code even when I can't reach an i.
(2) I want to write programs for other platforms, but the only
language I know is RPG.
I'm open to the possibility that there are other scenarios.
Obviously, the "best response" (for some definition of best) will be
different depending on what your underlying motivation is.
