Your character value would need to be 00041.2800 for it to
convert properly. It's trying to convert it to 412800.0000 which obviously
is too big.

Use MOVE. ;)

Geez...I must be losing it. I'm trying to take a character string and put
it into a numeric field, and I'm getting an RNQ0103 target error.

Here's the value of WkTax:
000412800
And here's the line of code:
WkTax94 = %Dec(WkTax:9:4);
And here's the definition of the fields:
D WkTax S 9
D WkTax94 S 9 4

I want WkTax94 to have a value of 00041.2800.

Is that too much to ask?

p.s. I've also tried to put the same string value into a 13.4 field.
