Surprised that you think this would provoke argument John. Particularly since it was designed to deal with folks who thought that using names made it hard to know which actual indicator was being used. I have been teaching this approach (which Aaron Bartell originally suggested to me) for many years now and can honestly say I have never had anyone raise an objection to it. In fact many have told me they immediately adopted it as a shop standard.

Some of the examples show poor style or a style that provokes arguments, like Example 7.2 where indicators are constructed with a purpose_name and a Indicator-Nbr - - in most cases, this style point would start an argument, but at least the intent is clear. And I support it's use in the redbook.
