I agree. I just wrote a set of subfiles with single page load in
procedures, 5 different position to values using dynamic SQL. Very simple
and clean. The dynamic SQL makes it simple and reading everything in a
single read into an array makes it even simpler. Only one procedure builds
the SQL statement and opens the cursor. All the rest of the routines just
read the cursor reading a page of records plus one into an array. Framework
can be used again and again, just changing the load procedures.
