How I do this is to use the SFLSNGCHC keyword. *SLTIND will show a checkbox, *NOSLTIND is the default.. That is what you are asking for. If you have a situation where they need multi-choice, like a pick list, then SNGMLTCHC is useful. What I particularly like is that the item changes color when selected, On a multi-choice list that is really helpful

The item selects/ unselects with either a mouse click or the space bar. Add a scrollbar and your users will buy you coffee for a week.
