This is for the lurkers and the archives more than you Charles. With
ILE, we can write a service program that uses multiple languages. In one
service program I could have source in Java, RPG and C if I like.
If it turns out that holding an XML structure in memory is easier in C,
I'd do it in C, and provide functions that my RPG colleagues could use.

My colleagues would not know or care that the service program has C
source, or Java, or RPG.

If C code will help me to do reflection on a rpgle datastructure, I will
use it.
I already used C and java code to expose regex functions using service
programs.
