This did not work using the 'Z'
if cdsstadt = z'0001-01-01-00.00.00.000000'

so I used the *loval instead. I agree, it seems simpler

The following two ways both worked from within my RPG free program:

Did the timestamp literal not work, or did Scott M's suggestion get lost
in the swarm? The 'Z' makes it a timestamp literal. It seems simpler
than using %timestamp.

if cdsstadt = z'0001-01-01-00.00.00.000000';

(But I'd use *loval since it's less error-prone.)
