- 1 from me!!
I have to go with Jon's comments. I had looked at CODE/400 and all back in the late 90s, was not really impressed, and IBM did not have, in my experience, a real good way of helping customers. I guess I refer here more to VA for RPG, where the competitor was very actively working with prospects, while it was a lot of work to get anything from IBM.
Nonetheless, I went on to WDSC sometime after it first came out - kind of a hate-hate relationship, I admit.
Now I find RD-whatever to be a fantastic tool. AND I still go to PDM for some things, even SEU for some simple stuff.
AND IBM have provided AMTS - Application Management Toolset (5761-AMT) that gives you PDM plus CL editing in SEU. That combines very well with RD*, in my opinion.
Cheers
Vern

In a recent Linkedin discussion Bob Cancilla, a former IBM product manager for Rational Tools personally took credit for the decision to freeze SEU. Anyone who knows Bob knows that his modus operandi is NOT customer centric, nor IBM i centric. He stubbornly and tenaciously manipulates for his personal interests.
I actually don't know how much credit might go to Bob for the decision, but I personally would like to see the freeze lifted.
