C# is a very good language. The issue is alot of the time, you use plug ins
or products from a third party like DevExpress for grids and that is a new
learning curve. But I have to say, I am happy with C#, just as I was happy
with RPG (Cobol less so).

I disagree strongly with this assessment. In my view, C is about as
agnostic as it gets: It's not going to help you with *anything*, let
alone tying any knots. It does provide plenty of tools for you to do
yourself and others harm. It just kind of stands aside as you use
them however you like.
