If you want to use READC for the first time and mark the changed records still as changed you should activate the SFLNXTCHG DDS keyword.

Add SFLNXTCHG to the SFL RCDFMT, controlled by an indicator.

When pressing F8, READC, turn on indicator UPDATE SFL, turn off indicator.
