For me, the most compelling reason to use a linear
main is that all your RPG procedures look the same, except that one of
them is designated as the first procedure to be called when the program
is called.

I didn't buy that, as I think programmers identify the main procedure
as the one that has no interface and therefore containing the first
executable code.

The other big benefit is that a linear main procedure can be called
recursively.

That's more interesting to me, so programs CAN be called recursively?
