I am running v5r4 and therefore using JDK1.5.
It has been over a year since I played with it, but I did get it working. I seem to recall that setting JAVA_HOME was a key:
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(JAVA_HOME) +
VALUE('/QIBM/ProdData/Java400/jdk15/')
and
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_RPG_JAVA_PROPERTIES) +
VALUE('-Djava.version=1.5.0;-Djava.home=/QI+
BM/ProdData/Java400/jdk15;-Djava.awt.headle+
ss=true;')
