Not sure I can be much help, but I guess you are working on
an i at something prior to V7.1.
At V7.1, the RPGLE manual shows:
Named or Un-named data structure length Maximum of 16773104
With your dim(999), the total of those
elements must fit within the stated limit,
which I take to be 65535.
