I always use 32-bit integers (10i 0). They are the fastest to
increment, and you're not really saving any effort or making the code
more readable (or anything else that I can fathom) by using a 3,0 packed
decimal. (Indeed, if anything, you're making the code more difficult to
maintain because anyone who tries a number higher than 998 will have
problems, and will have to stop and troubleshoot the new bug he's
created... )
What value do you derive from using 3p0? What advantage does it give
you? (Saves you 2 bytes of memory! LOL!)

Hi everyone,
A coworker got caught out by the For EndFor loop.
D wI S 3 0
For wI = 1 to %elem(arrayWith999Elements)
etc.
EndFor;
I said it was normal at the end that wI should be incremented to 1000,
thus making the program crash.
I wondered what the normal way would be to avoid this. I always use 5I
0 for my array index.
The coworker changed the DIM setting to 998!
