In a former life in a large shop we used Original Software's TestBench and TestDrive products. Company started out on the iSeries, (or maybe AS/400) but have since branched out to handle Oracle and SQL Server and GUI as well a green screen.

Not a cheap product as I recall, but good for running repeatable tests, selecting test data and seeing what changed.

They are a UK company, but have a USA office.
