Based on the field name for thckmindec i'm guessing that is a numeric
field. %subst() returns alpha not decimal...

Subject: RNF7416 on EVAL statement
Sent by: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx
I am getting an 'RNF7416 Type of the right and left side do not match in
the EVAL operation', error on the following EVAL statement.
C z-add 0 thckminall
2 0
C
C '-' scan sizeall endc
2 0 30
C *in30 ifeq '1'
C z-add 1 startc
2 0
C eval thckmindec =
%subst(szdia1:startc:endc)
Field 'SZDIA1' is defined in the input file.
I was hoping someone can give me some help on the reason why.
Thanks,
William Moore
