Do a WRKJOB on the job that you're calling the program for, look in the
job's spooled files and if it printed anywhere you'll at least see and
entry with the status as FIN, if there's not one then nothing was
generated by the program.

Subject: Test program calls puts(), creates spool file here, but
not on customer box
Sent by: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx
Given this test program:
H DFTACTGRP(*NO)
H BNDDIR('QC2LE')
D PUTS PR 10I 0 EXTPROC('puts')
D STRING * VALUE OPTIONS(*STRING)
C CALLP PUTS('This is a test' + x'0d25')
C SETON LR
If I compile it here, on our box, and submit it as a batch job on our
box, I get a spool file.
If I do the same on a customer box, I either don't get a spool file, or
I get one that immediately gets printed (even though I can't see any
reason why it should).
The batch job's OUTQ is set to an output queue that is *not* connected
to any running printer.
I'm in the process of finding out whether or not my spool files are
getting sent to somebody's printer.
