From the ILE RPG Manual4-Digit Year Formats
56 is the total length of all your subfields You have 10 + 20 + 26(a
datefield is 26 bytes). I also forget to say that I use overlay for the
subfields
D storeSalesRs ds 56 Dim(1000)
D qualified
D*storeSalesRs ds occurs(1000)
d o_StoreNum 10i 0 OVERLAY(storeSalesRs:1)
d o_StoreName 20a OVERLAY(storeSalesRs:*next)
* Actual dates
d o_AFromDate d OVERLAY(storeSalesRs:*next)

Hi Don, why 56?

if that works. I've had this type of error on a few of my arrays and
defining a length seems to fix the problem.

I tried your suggestion and changed the MODS to an array
D storeSalesRs ds Dim(1000)
D qualified
D*storeSalesRs ds occurs(1000)
d o_StoreNum 10i 0
d o_StoreName 20a
* Actual dates
d o_AFromDate d
The result was the same. If I try to compile it fails. I get the same
SQL5011 30 520 Position 35 Host structure array STORESALESRS not
defined or not usable.
As soon as I comment out the date field it compiles successfully.

Robert,
What happens if you define it as a DS array (using the DIM keyword
notthan the OCCURS keyword)?

Hi all,
I'm working on a macine at V7R1,
I have a MODS defined as
d storeSalesRs ds occurs(1000)
d o_StoreNum 10i 0
d o_StoreName 20a
* Actual dates
d* o_AFromDate d
and later I return the result set
Exec SQL
SET RESULT SETS ARRAY :storeSalesRs for :idx ROWS;
If I uncomment the date field o_AFromDate and recompile I get
SQL5011 30 520 Position 35 Host structure array STORESALESRS
listlistdefined or not usable.Datfmt=*ISO)
I already attampted to set the datfmt for the SQL (SET OPTION
but this had no effect.--
Does anyone have any insight as to what I'm missing?
Thanks,
Robert Rogerson
