When CVTRPGSRC (Convert RPG Source) is ran , that is what it does. It converts the 'I' spec to 'D' specs.
I you have a RPG program, run it though the conertion program and take a look at the RPGIV program
it creates. That will give you some ideals and examples.

You could build a DS in D-specs, that would map a single field into some or all of the fields on the screen, in whatever order you care to put them in.
