Indeed, it only confuses everyone and makes brand recognition smaller and smaller (which seems to be a top priority within IBM, kill your own products... just look at the various names for the system itself, but also in other areas like the development tools... how many names do you already have for what is called RDP today, or just try to explain the offering to your customers).

Anyhow, if they've plenty of money, they'd better invest it Barbara's team so the introduction of new features (some basic OO concepts would be great as a starter) in the language can speed up a bit. Making it an even more sexy language will do a much better job than just renaming it.
