I had also posted this as a question on the RPG Café. I was told I should open up a DCR for it.

Can anyone at 7.1 verify this?

I've read a couple RPG at 7.1 articles and they didn't mention the issue of using indexed arrays in embedded SQL (or really mention SQL).

Thanks,
Kurt
ps. After reading these articles, I really want to upgrade to 7.1

That's a bummer.

I opened up IBM's Developerworks RFE page to enter an RFE, but
apparently it doesn't include RPG.

IBM told me they did not support indexed arrays in SQL.

Maybe I shouldn't take from it that the SQL precompiler supports all
ILE RPG functions, only the new ones, but that's what I'm doing (b/c
if
they're
not I'm putting in a RFE).

Here's my new issue, SQL doesn't seem to like my host data structure
array
variable:
Exec SQL
Insert into CalTypTIDP (Carry)
Values( :ds_CalTypTID(gReadIndex).Carry );

Same definition of the DS as before:

D ds_CalTypTID DS LikeDS( dsTmpl_CalTypTID )

D Dim(
MAX_BLOCK_READ )

Precompiler Error Messages (line 1301 is the "Values" line above):
