In my opinion, RCLRSC has no place in production code (unless you are
dealing with third-party software over which you have no control, and
even then it may be avoidable by creative use of submitted jobs [for
batch processing] or group jobs [for interactive processing]).
Also, all of my service programs which use files have a Close
procedure which closes all of the files. Proper procedure (pun
intended) for the callers is to call the Close procedure before
ending.
