Nothing in the header spec except *nodebugio and *srcstmt (my standards), Pete. I have to admit this really freaked me out. I trust the RPG compiler as much as any piece of software I've worked with in my life, so I tried this over and over. It's GOT to be a PTF issue, especially since nobody else can repeat my findings.

Do you have OPTIMIZE() in the header spec? I think anything greater than
*BASIC can cause issues like that in debug.

What would you expect tempvar to get set to? I think it would be "Data"
but I would be wrong. It gets blanks, at least on my system.
