The problem is the way the screen image gets distorted, I'm not sure a
different font would help.
1.) Using a 5/4 screen resolution. The Iseries display area is very
stretched from side to side.
2.) Using a 16/9 screen resolution. You have 2" of empty space on both
sides of the monitor. Its like the Iseries Access display area is fixed in
at a 5/4 presentation format, with the display area centered within the
16/9 screen.
We are at V5R4 using Iseries Access for Windows 5.8 with the next to the
lastest service pack. Prehaps the newer versions of Iseries Acess have
better support for widescreen monitors.

We use some 132 column screens. The funny thing is we can't get Client
Access/Iseries Access to utilize a descent widescreen format on a
widescreen monitor.
Client Access seems to be optimized for 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 all
square monitor formats. If Client Access supported a descent widescreena
format like 1280x720 then a 132 column screen would be as readible on a
widescreen monitor as a 80 column screen on a square monitor.
Unless someone knows a trick for using a widescreen monitor with Client
Access?

We I first got to my present employee...every screen was 80 columns...
I had a project a couple-three years ago, which originally spec'ed out
report that the user would mark up, along with by a data entry screen...
I asked why not beef up the screen with more info, so that the user can
see everything they need to make their decision...which cried out for 132
columns.
and/or modify is requested to be 132 columns.
It was a pretty decent fight between me and the BA to do the screen as
132 columns....I won eventually.
What funny is that now, just about every screen we're asked to create

Glad to know I'm not the only person that thinks that a 132 screen
comes in handy on occasion. I get screamed at (literally) every time
I use one because "132 is for printer files only and must never be
used on our system!" Then why is in SDA...? Is IBM just *trying* to
get me in trouble? ;)
