Further to Toms response, our RPG2Excel functionality that Vern mentioned has full VBScript access to the spreadsheet, but from a simple RPG program.

Imagine automating MS Excel directly from RPG or CL.

Feel free to contact me or Vern offline or request a 30 day trial from our web site.

William,
You can also use a VB script kicked off in excel by a button to go to the Iseries and extract data and return it to the spreadsheet. Requires some cl and rpg programming as well as VB scripts.
