Make up your mind Joe - do I belong to a little group or a crowd?
Either way, I AM part of the group who finds the manner of your posts to
be boorish and ignorant. When you can manage to stick to a technical
topic they are fine - and you express your opinions well. But you are
not willing to leave it at that - you just have to personalize it.
I am really sorry that you cannot see what an ass you are being.
I didn't start the personalization of this thread. I don't normally
cause a ruckus anymore; feel free to point to a thread where I have done
so in the last month, or year, or even two years. I think maybe the
last row I was in was back in 2008 or so.
Let's revisit this one more time and then I'll shut up.
My post that got Jon mad:
"Despite the pundits on this thread, the LDA is just as valid as any
other tool.
(...) Remember, some of these same folks advocate PHP as the language of
the future for the platform."
At this point, I didn't mention anyone by name, and I was voicing the
opinion that PHP is just as backwards a technology as the LDA. You may
disagree, but it's my opinion.
Jon, though, doesn't like that and jumps in with this:
"I've been agreeing with so many of your posts lately Joe but it was too
good to last ... "
In subsequent posts he went on to call me "petty" and to characterize my
statements as "ranting".
Jon personalized it. Jon addressed me directly. I responded.
Yes, this thread has gone on long enough. I'm sorry if I've offended
anyone's sensibilities. Have a nice Super Bowl weekend.
Okay, I'll try to avoid these personal ruckuses for a couple more
years. Then y'all can tell me what an ass I am again.
Joe
