Interesting leap that celebration of new years day coincides with midnight.
I've never heard that before.

To me, midnight 3rd is the moment between 2nd and 3rd. I don't use
"midnight" in scheduling. It's 23:59 or 00:01 to avoid confusion.

Midnight is 00:00:00, on the 3rd there is only one midnight and it is
the
first instance of time on that day.

To prove this we celebrate new years day at 00:00:00 (the countdown to
midnight) and not 00:00:01
