There's the answer. While I know that there are still people constrained
to RPG3 and even some to RPG2, it still astounds me that it happens so
frequently 15+ years after RPG4 was released. Not a dig on you of course.
Sometimes we have to do what we have to do. I have a client that still
has a significant amount of RPG2 code in production. Fortunately they let
us rewrite things when it makes sense to do so, but we still can't get to
/free. They are still at v4r3. One day we will convince them to upgrade,
preferably before a hard disk crash causes them to consider it.

Wrong hammer, Mark. The subject says SQLRPG, not SQLRPGLE!

What's wrong with

H DatFmt(*EUR)

/free
WMAJDL = %char(%date);
/end-free

It is at least twice as fast, and you don't have all that SQL
syntax confusing the issue. Do you use Exec SQL to do all of
your other assignments?

Sure you can use a big wrench to pound in a nail, but why do
that when the hammer is right there.

Hi all

This was giving me '30/11/10 '

C/EXEC SQL
C+ SET : WMAJDL = CURRENT DATE
C/END-EXEC

I wanted '30.11.2010'

So I tried :

C/EXEC SQL
C+ SET OPTION DATFMT = *EUR
C/END-EXEC

the editor accepts this but the compiler says position 9 not
admitted.
Where is position 9 anyway?

Thanks for your help.
