SET OPTION are the "H-Specs" for embedded SQL but are not
executed at runtime.
That's why a SET OPTION statement should be coded only once
and MUST physically precede ALL other SQL-Statements within
your Source code.
A real date is always a binary value and date formats are
only for to make those binary values readeable.
If you want to display or print a data within a specific
format, just convert it into character:
c/EXEC SQL Set :MyCharDate = CHAR(Current_Date, EUR) C/END-Exec

Remove the space between the colon and WMAJDL on you SET
Huh? That line works. It's the format of the date that's wrong.

Hi all
This was giving me '30/11/10 '
C/EXEC SQL
C+ SET : WMAJDL = CURRENT DATE
C/END-EXEC
I wanted '30.11.2010'
So I tried :
C/EXEC SQL
C+ SET OPTION DATFMT = *EUR
C/END-EXEC
the editor accepts this but the compiler says position 9
Where is position 9 anyway?please take a
