Alan, would you explain what you did exactly here? I'm imagining a procedure with no code to execute.

2.06 minutes using main. (20 000 0000 calls to the main procedure, ie dynamic calls?)
3.06 minutes with LR off ( the same as above but without the main keyword ?)
3.17 minutes with LR On ( here you switched on LR at the end of each call? But were there any global variables?)
