Thanks for the insight. At my last job, we were told they were starting a new division. Without knowing anything else, I asked to be in it.
Would that be what you are referring to?

Of course that division was sold 4-5 years later. Out of 14 people, 4 of us were left. So I guess I did have some value to the company other
than just a "code monkey".
