I have seen more copy&paste than actual programming. And if you are just copying code for decades there can be no innovation or advancement.

I have been flamed for using callback procedures ... "We don't use this modern stuff. If you want to use it then maintain it yourself, 24/7."

C programmers use function pointers for decades and even in RPG your can use this feature for several years now. RPG programmers are very resistent when it comes to "new" stuff.

My answer/comment is, "Please justify that statement, since it does not
stand on its own without evidence to back it up."

I think I don't understand your answer/comment?

... you didn't think you were going to get by with that statement ...

???

Join a forum/channel/newsgroup which handles some mainstream
programming language and provide a working example for some
trivial task/question and you'll find yourself being slapped
for that. Why? Because joining a forum/channel/etc is also about
learning and not just about letting other people do the work.

Hear, hear!

My experience so far tells me that RPG Programmers
are a lazy bunch (exceptions prove the rule).

Now come on, Mihael, you didn't think you were going to get by with that
statement - especially here - without justification, did you? (The tired
phrase "exceptions prove the rule" - hardly qualifies as justification.)
