Matt,
Just a FYI.

Everytime you see the char(*) parameter in any of IBM api documentation, you
should always match it with a big enough alpha field in the RPG prototype.
The options(*varsize) is optional but is preferred (it will likely to give
you better performance). When performing the actual call to the api, always
use the acutal alpha field as the parameter (No %addr()).

I think I know why it needs to be done that a way. But I'm afraid I might
explain it wrong. So, I'll leave the explaination for the expert.

Try change you code to be like below:

D Translate PR ExtPgm('QDCXLATE')
D Length 5P 0 const
D Data 32766A options(*varsize)
D Table 10A const

// read from standard in - pipe is placed in 'data' variable
len = stdin(data);

// data is in ASCII so translate it.
translate(len : data : 'QTCPEBC' );

Have been looking at writing a pipe to process log information from the
IBM
HTTP. Program reads data but it appears to be in ASCII. Tried using the
follow code to convert it and it didn't work. What did I do wrong?
