this would work unless you need to keep the spaces.
dspInvoiceNub = %EditC(%Dec(invoiceNbr:9:0):'Z')
will result in ' 1234567'
instead of '1234567'

Hi all,with
This should be quick. I have a character field
d invoiceNbr s 9a
which may hold '001234567'. The user wants to see the invoice number
leading zeroes suppressed so '1234567'.list
My first thought is
/free
dspInvoiceNbr = %Char(%Dec(invoiceNbr: 9: 0));
/end-free
Is there a better method or is this about as good as any other method?
Thanks,
Rob
