As my boss said when I asked about attending Common, his response was that
Common had nothing to offer.

Bearing in mind that I may need training (even at or especially because of my advanced years) more than most, I have been going to COMMON since 1983 and have never failed to make it worth my while and the company's. Hell, otherwise my original RPG training class would be more than sufficient, right? Even when I was unemployed and looking for a job, I always found enough money to go to the conferences twice a year; didn't want to get stale.
